The Groton School

The Campbell Performing Arts Center was built to support the Groton School’s thriving arts program. Two theatres are housed within the 35,000-sf building: the Asen Theatre, a proscenium space that seats 460, and the McBaine Studio Theatre, a flexible “black box” that accommodates 80 to 125. The shallow fan-shaped seating arrangement of the mainstage ensures the furthest seats in both the orchestra and balcony are only 40 feet from the stage. The center also includes practice space for ensemble and individual musicians, scene shop, dressing rooms, and a green room.
