The ICA at Virginia Commonwealth University is poised to become a cultural linchpin for the city of Richmond. Part exhibition and performance space, part lab and incubator, this new facility features a series of flexible programming spaces for the presentation of visual art, theatre, music, dance and film for both on-campus and public audiences. The ICA includes a 247-seat performance space with raked seating, a sprung floor, and excellent acoustics. The theatre’s rear stage wall opens to enable the loading dock to double function as a deeper back stage.
